Burning in subtitles requires re-encoding the video, which can be slow in a browser, so this feature is available in the desktop app. The burn-in process runs entirely on your computer, with no need to upload the video. Preview your subtitles and adjust their size, color and opacity before exporting. Burned-in subtitles become part of the video image and cannot be switched off.
No. Your browser or desktop app extracts audio locally. Only compressed audio is uploaded for transcription and translation. Server audio is removed after full transcription or within 24 hours unless an active payment extends that window.
Yes. The browser reads the video in chunks instead of loading the whole file into memory. Available local storage, audio codec support and the duration limits still apply: 3 hours as a guest and 8 hours when signed in.
No. Complete subtitles cost $1 per video hour, rounded up to the nearest cent. Pay for one video or add USD credit. The minimum payment is $1.00; any extra becomes reusable balance.
